My heart hurts

I am constantly reading things in the news about families and children that make me so, so sad. There are many times in the past few years where I just have to take a break from the news because I can't process it anymore.

Have you been following the story of the Kim family, who was on their way back from Seattle to San Francisco and got lost in southern Oregon? The parents and their two small children were lost over a week ago. The mother and the girls were found alive in their car but sadly, today, two days later, the father was found dead in the wilderness. He was trying to find help for his family. I am just so sad for them. Here is a link to the recent news from this story.

Please keep this family in your thoughts.

  1. Yeah, I've been following that story too. I wanted so badly for the father to be alive! I almost started crying when I saw the story that said he'd died.

  2. I was following that story. I thought for sure he'd be found alive... how devastating for them. They are in my thoughts.

I am also heartbroken by the mother in Toronto who threw herself and her two year old off an overpass. They both died. I can't imagine what she must have been going through to think that was a good solution.

All the sadness in the world is sometimes overwhelming.

I talked to a woman today who told me her entire village has been wiped out. She's Iraqi. She's here temporarily, but has no home to return to.

I wish I could fix all the sad and the bad in the world. I really do. That's my Christmas wish.

  3. I had been keeping up with it and am so sad to hear the tragic ending...
