On Monday morning the girls, Matt and I left for a little tour of visiting family and friends around Wisconsin. It was so much fun and quite a whirl-wind. We are very much looking forward to being back home on Sunday, as well.
I haven't been writing anything down while we have been away and I am afraid I may not be able to journal all of our activities from memory. Hopefully I can, we'll see. I'm sure you're all waiting with baited breath to read about how the second hald of our trip has gone, right? Of course! I'll do my best. I also vow to never travel without the laptop again. It was actually quite nice to be dis-connected from the internet for so long but I also didn't get a chance to write at all. I am awful at remembering details and I know many of the precious moments of our journey have already been lost. If I had at least had the laptop I coul dhave kept writing. I've learned my lesson! At least I had the camera close by at all times.
Some highlights of this past week have included introducing Eloise to many family members and friends who hadn't met her, watching Eloise take her first steps, watching my grandparents interact so lovingly with the girls, listening in on Iris's conversations with family and friends and meeting yet another mama in person I have only known online. Besides some hot weather and some less than perfectly comfortable sleeping accommodations this past week was better than we could have ever hoped.
We have dearly enjoyed our time in the midwest over the past few weeks. It's going to be bittersweet to go back home, for sure. I feel so pulled in many directions simply because the people I love are spread out across the country and we are having a hard time narrowing down what we really and truly want to do with our lives and where we want to be living permanently. Sigh.
There are so many blog posts jumbled up in my brain, but they are not for tonight. Tonight I need to get some rest so that tomorrow we can wrap up everything and get ready for our departure.
