On Saturday Matt and I went on our third date since Eloise's birth. It was alot of fun. Melissa came to watch the girls and we took off for downtown Ballard where Matt was lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front of the movie theater. Interestingly, the same spot where I had the run with this guy (and subsequently realized he really was full of shit about where the parking spaces really are on that street, but I digress). We were there to see The Bourne Ultimatum and since we were a few minutes early we walked over to Bartell's where we loaded up with candy to sneak in. Shhh!!!! The movie was awesome. I say awesome because every other scene the only thing I could think was "this is awesome". I felt like a 14 year old boy, but really, it was awesome! Okay, I'll stop. We ended up spending $30 on matinee tickets, candy, popcorn and drinks. Yikers!
After we got home and discovered that all was well on the homefront, we headed over to the Wurst Festival. We went last year and Iris really enjoyed the child-centered midway type games, so we made a plan to go again this year. I wasn't nearly as fond of the whole thing this time, maybe it was spending so much money on game tickets just for Iris to win a crappy prize? Who knows. The girls dug the music, though, you know, they are one and three, and Eloise has been known to dance to the sound of the dishwasher.
All in all a pretty fun day.
