I actually very rarely listen to whole albums anymore. What with spotify and pandora and whatnot, I very rarely have a reason to! I can pick and choose my favorite songs to fit my mood! While I don't really listen to any of these albums much right now, they will always hold very special places in my heart.
My favorite album of all time is Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002). That would be my first choice.
White Stripes' White Blood Cells (2001) is my second choice.
The Pixies' Surfer Rosa (1988) is my third choice.
Considering how old all of these albums are (well, not oldies, but certainly older) it's kind of obvious when I stopped really listening to full albums, no?
And, just for fun, I'll include one more. I recently went to a concert of one of my very favorite Seattle bands, The Long Winters, and they played their 2003 album When I Pretend to Fall in it's entirety. Oh, what a treat that was. I love that album and sang along to every single word of every single song. This album would probably be #4 on my list of desert island albums. If you are in to that indie-folk-rock love song sound with catchy lyrics, I highly suggest you take a listen to this album on Spotify (or itunes, or whatever you like to listen to music with!)
What are your three desert island albums?
