One word to describe it all? AWESOME.
Our team name, Everything is Awesome, was perfect.
We finished 351/506 total teams, finishing in 32:03:21. I have to admit, I like the numbers because I like numbers, but our team was in no way, shape, or form "racing" at Ragnar. It's cool to see how long it took us, that's about it. 32+ hours of awesome. Maybe we should have run slower and prolonged the fun?
I absolutely loved being the captain of this team. Being the captain didn't really mean much during the race, I didn't have to "put on my captain hat" at any point, mostly it meant I did a huge amount of work leading up to the race.
And yes, it was a lot of work, but as I told my teammate, it just extended the Ragnar excitement for a few months. I knew exactly how all of the time spent orchestrating everything would pay off, and that was really fun for me.
If this teams wants to re-form for Ragnar NWP 2015 I would absolutely love to be the captain again!
So stay tuned, there is more, lots more!, to come, as soon as I can wrap my head around how to compress all of my thoughts on the weekend in to a blog post or two.
My only "spoiler alert" is that my foot never, not once, gave me any issues. In fact, my entire body held up shockingly well!
